The beauty of Black women is unmatched—and if anyone needed a reminder, they got it on December 9 at the Mufasa: The Lion King premiere. The celebrity-filled red carpet wasn’t just a celebration of Disney’s latest adaptation of the beloved classic; it was a full-on showcase of Black women.

From now on the premiere will be known as the event where ‘everybody ate.’

Serving avant-garde fashion, cultural couture, and sheer, undeniable style, Black women proved once again we are the blueprint. So, let’s get into more red carpet looks, celebrity sightings, and style details.

As HB reported, the Knowles-Carter family led the fashion parade in LA last night. All eyes were on Blue Ivy, who had her official red carpet debut at 12.

Exuding grace, poise, and confidence, Blue Ivy wore a stunning gold gown with a sweetheart neckline, ruched waist, and dramatic ballgown skirt. Her cascading curly braids and glowing skin were everything.

Standing proudly by her side were Beyoncé and Mama Tina, showing just where Blue Ivy got her style and confidence from. Queen Bey rocked a plunging Balmain gown while her mother, Tina, slayed in her signature black pants look.

Black women stole the show at the Mufasa premiere

Several other Black Hollywoodit girlsand celebs joined the Knowles-Carter family. Cameras caught Anika Noni Rose, Tiffany Boone, KiKi Layne, Jordyn Woods, and more, creating their own stand out moments.  

Kiki Layne brings RED carpet drama – literally.

Actress Kiki Layne took our breath away in a custom Haute Couture gown by Le Thanh Hoa. The red dress combined boldness, texture, and elevated elegance.

The dress’s high neckline and sheer elements were everything – and its luxurious red feathers brought all the movement and drama. Kiki completed the ensemble with shoes from Jimmy Choo and simple jewelry.

Chloe Bailey makes us swoon with her midnight magic.

Chloe Bailey also delivered a look that had everyone talking. The Coachella performer wore a strapless midnight blue gown that oozed sophisticated elegance.

Chloe’s gown featured a fitted silhouette draped with delicate ruching, and a dramatic train added that extra wow factor we expect from the singer. For her beauty look, Chloe kept it ethereal with an intricate updo and natural makeup.

Jordyn Woods is playing no games in this liquid gold sequins gown.

Model Jordyn Woods took the red carpet to a new level in a jaw-dropping one-shoulder gown that sparkled like liquid gold. The dress, fully encrusted in glittering sequins, hugged her curves to perfection and featured a sultry thigh-high slit.

Jordyn elevated her ensemble with a luxurious fur stole draped effortlessly over her shoulders, serving timeless glamour. Her beauty look was equally flawless, with sleek side-swept waves, glowing skin, and a nude lip that perfectly complemented the warm golden tones of her dress.

While the red carpet was technically about celebrating Disney’s newest Lion King chapter, the true stars of the night were the Black women in attendance. From Blue Ivy’s debut to the jaw-dropping fashion moments delivered by Kiki, Chloe, Jordyn, and others, it was a night to celebrate the brilliance and beauty of Black women in entertainment.

Anika Noni Rose’s look is all about the details. The actress dials up the drama in her monochromatic look with a velvet corset bodice, sparkling draped skirt, and high slit. Not to mention the gloves?! Get into it, Sis!

2. Thuso Mbedu

Thuso Mbedu is serving in cultural couture from head to toe. She wears an intricate ensemble with a colorful patterned  bandeau top and pants accented by black sheer details. She tops off her look with black and white bantu knots.

Zuri Hall is another Hollywood starlet loving the color gold. The actress poses at the Mufasa: The Lion King premiere in a rust gold sleeveless sequin dress with sheer panels that we love. To top off the look, Zuri wears blonde braids and hot red nails. Chef’s kiss!

IZA was the epitome of regal couture at the recent Lion King premiere. Wearing a scalloped strapless gown with a striking gold fringe detail and opera gloves, the bombshell beauty looked sztunning.  Her voluminous curls added to her ensemble, framing her face while giving us all the natural girl realness.
