The month of December is a busy one for Jordan Chiles. This is not only because the two-time Olympian is currently back at ULCA and occupied with contorting her body for upcoming competitions but also because she is engrossed in everything holiday-related. From participating in the Bath & Body Works’ seventh Annual Candle Day celebration to decorating her 12ft Christmas tree in all white, the Oregon native has a hefty to-do list for the merry season.
We caught up with the beauty to chat about her collaboration with Bath & Body Works’ Annual Candle Day Celebration, which included Chiles participating in a four-mile Candle Torch Run through Manhattan that ended at Hudson Yards, where she and gold medalists and couple Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall lit the three wicks of a giant Bath & Body Works candle to spark a countdown to Bath & Body Works’ biggest candle sale which ended on Sunday, Dec 8.

This collaboration was the perfect match for Chiles because she is a candle girly who grew up in a candle-burning household and loves to incorporate the scented cylinders into her self-care routines. She also enjoys candles as a form of self-care, and during the holiday season, creating a peaceful and welcoming ambiance is important. Jump in below to find out the World Champion’s favorite candle scent, her holiday traditions, and more.
HB: How do you do self-care? And does it include candles?
JC: Self-care honestly is the most amazing thing that I finally have the ability to dive into, and candles are a huge thing. I take the bougie route in the bathtub with a candle lit while watching Netflix on my iPad. I also hang out with friends and family, especially during the holidays. Being an athlete, I know how to separate my life and my sport life, and it’s really cool being able to find different ways to give myself self care.
HB: How do you get into the holiday spirit?
JC: We decorate the house. I am a decorator. Christmas is my favorite holiday. I just love being able to bring the family together and decorate the trees, putt up the stockings, and do stocking stuffers. It’s really cool. ’cause you have deep conversations with your family during that timeframe as well.
HB: So, what’s your decorating theme this year?
JC: I started decorating my house kind of like the Kardashians because they’re very into certain colors and having themes. This year, I’m doing neutrals and there’s these roses that I’m putting into the trees that are going to be really cool and elegant. So, I can’t wait to see how it turns out.
HB: What is it like to collaborate with Bath and Body Works for their Annual Candle Day celebration?
Jordan Chiles: My collab with Bath & Body Works is all about their sale, and their three-wick candles are honestly amazing. I’ve been using Bath & Body Works ever since I was little. I remember always walking into the house smelling the Limoncello scent. And being able to have this opportunity is cool. I enjoy Bath & Body Works, especially during the holiday season. Who doesn’t like holiday smells?
HB: Do you have a favorite Bath & Body Works candle?
JC: My favorite is the Mahogany Teakwood. It definitely gives that intense, cozy smell.
HB: We absolutely adore your fashion style. What is your go-to look for a holiday party this year?
JC: Oh, I am definitely the friend that over dresses during the holidays. But I have actually changed my style a little bit. I’ve been into this corset vibe. So, for Christmas time, I would probably do like a cute little pump with oversized jeans, a cute corset, and a blazer on top.
HB: That’s a classic look.
JC: Yes. I love fashion.
