I went to the North Pole this weekend, so of course I had to get cute to meet Santa. Haha. This weekend, My partner and I embarked on a short road trip to take our kids to see Santa and take family photos. We visited Ocean Casino Resort to experience their Santa’s Hideaway Adventure and stayed in one of their holiday-themed rooms and we had a truly magical time.
If you’re a mom of two like me, coordinating matching outfits and outings comes with the territory. This year, we killed two birds with one stone, celebrating my mate’s birthday and capturing holiday family photos in Atlantic City. We kicked off our trip by checking in to one of the resort’s holiday-themed rooms and it set the foundation for our weekend holiday adventure. When we stepped off the elevator on the 36th floor, two lifesize nutcrackers and a vintage red mailing post marked “North Pole” set the scene for the floor. We followed the red and green wall sconces to our room. Upon entry, we were immediately greeted by the beautiful view from the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the ocean. It smelled like Balsam fir and the Christmas tree in the corner made it feel like a winter wonderland.
Family Photos In Petal + Pup

After taking a quick second off our feet, we got dressed to take family photos. I opted for a black and brown stripe two-piece skirt set from Petal + Pup. What I love about this set is how it’s an effortless slay. The thick knit sweater material looked rich and warm. The Katin Knit Skirt Set (originally $99) is on sale this week for $59.40. As a tall girl, I’m 5’8″, I was concerned about the length of the skirt but it was the perfect length. It even had a small slit in the back so it wasn’t hard to walk. The gold buttons on the cardigan were a nice touch. I paired the look with a red lip, deep side part, and pointy-toe ankle boots from Macy’s.
This set also transitioned seamlessly from photo session to dinner at Ocean Steak where we enjoyed the tomahawk steak. I love a multipurpose slay. Shop the set, below.
